What is 1% for the Planet?
1% for the Planet was founded in 2002 by Yvon Chouinard, founder of Patagonia, and Craig Mathews, founder of Blue-Ribbon Files, as an alliance of businesses to support a global movement to better our planet and leave a healthy planet for our future generations.
It is estimated only 3% of total philanthropic giving goes to environmental causes. 1% for the Planet is on a mission to change that, by driving critical philanthropic support to address the most urgent environmental issues of our time. 1% for the Planet network exemplifies the power of collective action around the world. Every 1% matters.
We are borrowing our planet
from future generations.
We are aware that this not enough, and we still have a long way to go. We’re actively trying incorporate sustainable materials in our product design, knowing that every decision will impact our environment & community. By joining 1% for the Planet is the first step in our journey toward true, minimal, responsible design.
